Calysta is an award-winning, multi-national bio-technology firm, based in California, and is primarily involved in the development of industrial processes utilising micro-organisms to convert methane into protein for seafood and livestock feed and other useful products, such as fuel and plastics.  Our demonstration plant on Teesside uses methanotroph organisms to convert methane into protein currently approved for use in fish and livestock feed within the European Union.
