EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Composites Manufacture

The EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Composites Manufacture brings together diverse areas of expertise to train engineers and scientists with the skills, knowledge and confidence to tackle today’s evolving issues and future challenges in the area of composites manufacture. The Centre is a collaboration of four universities (Bristol (lead university), Cranfield, Manchester and Nottingham), and works closely with a number of industrial sponsors, including Rolls-Royce, Jaguar Land Rover, Hexcel and the National Composites Centre.

Research Engineers aspiring to key leadership positions in industry join the Centre to undertake a four-year Engineering Doctorate (EngD) in Composites Manufacture. The programme provides a challenging, multi-disciplinary and academically rigorous education and training experience, leading to a recognised, PhD-equivalent postgraduate qualification. The EngD is undertaken as a partnership between industry and academia, with each EngD research project designed around the sponsoring company’s research priorities.
