King Vehicle Engineering is the largest UK manufacturer of heavy trailers for abnormal loads. The Company was acquired in a management buyout in 1994 and in recent years it has launched a diversified number of products aimed at niche areas of specialist vehicle engineering including aerial access, traffic management, rail maintenance and military products. In 2003 it was declared ‘Leicestershire Business of the Year’ and runner up in the ‘Company of the Year’ in the ‘National Business Awards’. Turnover in 10 years rose from £5m and reached £31m.
