We offer engineering courses in aerospace, automotive, computer-aided design, design technology, electrical and electronics, energy, forensics, manufacturing, mechanical, product design and sport technology.

The variety of engineering courses reflects the range of skills, experience and facilities in our engineering department. We enable students to develop practical skills and theoretical understanding in a professional environment. The work of our two research institutes informs our teaching and both received the top award in the latest Research Assessment Exercise. 

The University has been awarded the Athena SWAN bronze award which rewards excellence and commitment to the career progression of women in science, engineering and technology (SET) departments.
