About Tate & Lyle Tate & Lyle, a world leader in renewable ingredients, was founded in the UK in 1921 by the amalgamation of the separate refining businesses of Henry Tate and Abram Lyle. Now a global company with operations predominantly in Europe, the Americas and Asia, Tate & Lyle provides ingredients, ingredient solutions and services to food, beverage and industrial customers. Tate & Lyle operates over 65 production facilities in 29 countries, predominantly in Europe, the Americas and South East Asia. Our operations produce renewable ingredients which fulfill our customers' demands for functionality. We employ 7,000 people in our subsidiaries with a further 4,800 employed in joint ventures.
