An Inspirational Family Business JK Wilkinson started this business from just one store in 1930. Today, Wilkinson is one of the great successes of high street retailing. We now employ around 24,000 team members and operate 280 stores across England and Wales. Now, in our third generation of family ownership, the next stage is to open 100 more stores by 2010. Heritage is important to us. But it’s never got in the way of our exceptional progress – one tradition our new CEO (who used to be the MD of Sainsbury’s stores) is keen to up hold.
