The RNLI is the charity that saves lives at sea.
Our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards routinely face some of the most challenging and unrelenting conditions on earth. The equipment they depend on must be more than a match for the worst the sea can muster – ready for action all day, every day, for many years to come. Anything less just won't do.
As Principal Maintenance Manager, your challenge will be considerable, a high profile role that will see you make an important contribution to our strategic plan whilst managing the performance of a large and geographically diverse team. Your focus will be on ensuring that our lifeboats and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, working closely with teams from across the RNLI. You'll possess strong managerial and technical skills and the ability to ensure that a continuous improvement approach is adopted across the team and its ways of working.
With overall responsibility for a team of approximately 70 staff and a budget of £3.5M, your ability to motivate and develop is key in ensuring the safe, effective and efficient delivery of coastal maintenance.
