As Quality Engineer, reporting to our Senior Quality Engineer as one of a five-strong team, you will provide technical Quality Engineering leadership to the business in the enhancement and execution of our Diabetes Care Franchise (DCF) Complaint Management process and systems. Involved in complaint, investigation, trending, reporting and escalation, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to identify customer insights for product/design/process improvements. Identifying system and process improvements to improve efficiency and/or reduce cycle times will be a key feature of the role, which will also involve:

  • making vital decisions based on data
  • being recognised as Subject Matter Expert
  • collaborating with business partners to ensure we meet customer needs
  • leading improvements to quality systems.

Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Maths, Statistics or similar, you’ve already deveopled a proven track record in the formal investigation of process experience, for example involving Process Excellence, Certified Quality Engineer etc. Your collaborative approach to problem-solving is underpinned by a clear ability to communicate effectively and persuasively across multiple departments and levels. You’ll need a working knowledge of the regulatory and compliance environment, including ISO 13485:2003; 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 14971, together with:

  • working knowledge of Risk Management tools – FMEA; SRA; DOE
  • expertise in data collection and manipulation in systems like SAS; COGNOS; SQL
  • statistics experience with the emphasis on signal detection, process controls and trending.
