As a Project Engineer reporting to the Contracts Manager, you’ll be involved with mature term contracts (both individual and framework based) within the Infrastructure Solutions Division. Working closely with Network Rail, London Underground and Water Authority representatives, supervisors and site operatives, your key responsibility will be to review work briefs provided by our Rail or Water Authority clients and develop the works required to provide the solution. Operating predominantly under your own initiative and using your well-developed problem-solving skills, you’ll undertake programming works with MS Project Server, managing sub-contractors and taking a proactive approach to clients’ requirements. Other key features of the Project Engineer role include:
• representing our client in a technical sales role
• preparing works packages and RAMS
• donning your boots to oversee and manage works on-site.
With a formal Civil and/or Project Engineering qualification, you’re a seasoned practitioner, drainage design and infrastructure maintenance experience preferred but not essential, an ability to work in a contractor-based environment with London Underground, Network Rail and/or the water authorities would be a distinct advantage. Whether you’ve operated client and/or contractor side, you’ll need proven Health & Safety experience within regulated environments and take a proactive approach to client requirements. With bags of initiative and the vision to identify and take opportunities, you’ll also bring:
• excellent problem-solving skills.
• Varied civil engineering experience (preferably in a rail environment)
• experience of sub-contractor management
• knowledge of programming works with MS Project.
