About the job

Overview of Added Scientific
Added Scientific are a successful, established, technology-agnostic Additive Manufacturing / 3D printing contract research organisation providing consultancy, problem-solving and lab-based technical services to clients. We are particularly specialist in material jetting, binder jetting and photocurable-based Additive Manufacturing (AM) where we seek to support organisations wanting to explore the implementation of AM and digital printing for their products. This includes end users wishing to implement AM for their products and hardware / materials vendors wanting to develop and commercialise their own printing materials and systems.

We have ambitious plans for the future where, in addition to our contract research business, we are currently widening our portfolio of activity to include the development of products, in particular related to 3D ink jetting hardware and materials.

We are a highly-skilled, multi-disciplinary team of PhD and degree-level engineers and scientists, supported by a management team with a world-class portfolio and legacy in AM research and exploitation. We are uniquely able to quickly understand our client's problems and cost-effectively find the most appropriate technical solutions, taking basic concepts through to the pre-commercialisation stage.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Technical Principal, this role gives the opportunity to work in a dynamic team in a small but growing company in a role with responsibilities including but not limited to:

• Willingness to travel to customer sites as may be occasionally required

Profile
You will have experience of working within a lab in a research or development setting. We are particularly looking for candidates with experience and knowledge of Additive Manufacturing, ideally binder jet and powder-bed processes.

The successful candidate must be able to both work independently and as part of a wider team and understand the importance of reporting progress and communicating effectively, both internally and externally. You must be able to manage your time effectively and know when to escalate issues and ask for assistance.
You should have an interest in Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing and be open to learning new techniques and areas.

Required experience of the following:

• Additive manufacturing processes and machinery
• Handling chemicals, COSHH and risk assessments

• Resource planning, timesheets and other project accounting functions
• Analytical thinking and good communication skills

Salary and Location

A salary of £35-45K dependent upon experience.
