Our client specialise in the design, development and manufacture of bespoke highest technology metrology systems for a diverse range of industry sector applications, and as a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly self motivated Sales Engineer to sell metrology equipment to a range of manufacturing industry clients throughout the UK, with principal target market sectors including aerospace, automotive, metal and composite fabrications.
Working as part of a small team and reporting directly to the Head of Sales, the successful candidate will proactively promote and sell the company’s products across the UK to various levels of staff at businesses in the target market sectors, typically liaising with Quality Engineers/Directors, Production Engineers/Directors, Engineering Managers/Directors to Managing Directors, so exceptional communication skills at all levels are a prerequisite for the position.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven successful track record selling high value capital equipment within the industrial marketplace as well as experience in the launching of new products to market, with previous experience of successful selling to the aerospace and automotive sectors proving to be distinctly advantageous.
While the company has an active and growing PR and lead generation program, you will be required to proactively prospect in the marketplace to help create your business sales pipeline, confident in the knowledge that you will be supported by a highly capable technical sales support team who will assist with product demonstrations and trials when required.
In order to be considered for this varied and challenging role, in addition to proven technical sales skills and experience, you will demonstrate clear verbal & written communication skills and the ability to understand technical concepts and problems, and will be completely comfortable making “cold” calls by phone and effectively questioning customers in order to maximise business development opportunities. You will be confident in presenting to customers at all levels, and in the preparation of associated proposals and presentations allied to technical capital plant system solutions, and will be able to work in an organized and efficient manner both autonomously or as part of a team.
