Principles Engineer / Design Engineer – Signalling / Rail

Our client is an independent firm offering a broad range of professional services.
They are currently seeking a Principles Engineer to join their multi-disciplinary railway team of over 50 lively and enthusiastic engineers, designers and technicians based in Solihull. The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the production of detailed signalling designs as directed by the design management. You will assist the signalling design management with planning and provide technical guidance for the production of detailed signalling design. You will also assist with risk assessments and analysis using the appropriate tools and methods required.
The successful candidate will have worked within a similar role previously and will have some experience of people management, giving them the ability to lead a small team of designers. A strong project manager, you will be experienced at planning and delegating and you will be a keen communicator who is confident when dealing with people at all levels. You will be committed to quality, accuracy, timeliness and efficiency and you will understand the importance of multitasking to respond to clients needs. You should be qualified to HND level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and you will hold IRSE licence Signalling Principles Designer category 1.1550 and ideally Signalling design verifier 1.1.160 as well as being a member of the IRSE and an Incorporated Engineer.
