Salary: Up to £44,000 depending on experience

The opportunity:

An opportunity to be part of the team leading the demonstrations of high power laser weapon systems in the UK and get hands on experience of real LDEW equipment

An opportunity has arisen to join the Integration and Systems Validation team supporting the DragonFire project.

The DragonFire team has successfully delivered 3 demonstration trials of this technology. Now there is an opportunity to join the team to support on-going trials and demonstrations.

The role is to support the DragonFire trails manager, This will require the ability to work with a multi-company team comprising of MBDA, Leonardo and QinetiQ.

You will be responsible for:

Supporting the DF Trials manager in:

• Delivering Trial plans
• Delivering the Trial support equipment into the Trial
• Conduction trial activities on trial sites
• Working alongside other functions within the business
• Assisting in the set-up of an MBDA LDEW facility

What we're looking for from you:

An enthusiastic engineer with experience of planning and conducting both physical and functional based test activities. A good self-starter with a positive can do attitude.

• [Desirable] Experience of working with laser equipment.
• [Desirable] Mechanical and/or electrical design skills.
• [Desirable] Computer scripting skills e.g. Python.

This Trial will be at QinetiQ Benbecula Range over a period of approximately 6 weeks. This will include time away from home travelling with overnight stays.
