Join our growing RF Group supporting the Electronic and RF testing of some of the most exciting projects in the defence industry.

Job Title: Electronics Engineer

Salary: Circa £49,000+ depending on experience 

Location: Bristol or Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4-5 days per week on-site due to workload classification with opportunity for remote working as dictated by business needs

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship (delete line if not applicable).

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our RF team. We need an Electronics Engineer to support various tasks including testing, component level assembly and rework.  Ideally you'll have exposure / bias towards RF technology across the full product life cycle, but most importantly you will be a good team player and willing to play your part in a high performing and welcoming team.

You'll have the opportunity to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team with a good understanding and dedication to achieving project goals. Day to day you'll be performing technical investigations, providing problem assessments, and propose design solutions within a culture of innovative thinking.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Ideally, degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience in electronic design, development and delivery; preferably in defence or related industry.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team with the awareness and understanding of the challenges that this may bring.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of electronic technologies and products
  • Familiar with RF circuits and components across a wide range of frequencies
  • Practical skills - soldering, fault finding and RF component level assembly
  • Use of RF Laboratory Test Equipment - Spectrum Analysers, VNA's, Power meters
  • Ability to use CAD software such as KiCAD or ORCAD
  • Good communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations to internal and external customers
