The Role
As a Mechanical Technician you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will carry out mechanical maintenance work at RAF Cosford.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for the efficient completion of preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on all items of Mechanical Equipment (Aircraft Support Equipment) in support of RAF Cosford and RAF Shawbury as well as:

  • All aspects of ASE ranging from the aircraft arrester barrier, jacks, trestles, GPU's, Hydraulic Rigs and Racking.
  • The successful fulfilment of the contracted tasking of the ASE
  • Mechanical component replacements

This role is full time with a 9 day working fortnight. You'll be based at RAF Cosford, Shropshire - just to the northwest of Wolverhampton and close to Albrighton and Telford, with travel to RAF Shawbury.

Experience required of the Mechanical Technician:

  • Basic level of mechanical engineering knowledge
  • Willingness to learn as training will be provided
  • Background in vehicles is advantageous

Qualifications for the Mechanical Technician:

  • NVQ or equivalent in mechanical engineering or other relevant subject

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
