Senior Power Systems Engineer

About the job

Role Insight
• You’ll work closely with customers across a wide range of projects, with a specific focus on defence programmes. You’ll have responsibility for delivering power systems analysis, encompassing power generation and distribution, energy storage and power conversion.
• You’ll produce detailed design studies, including short circuit calculations, load flow, protection coordination, and quality of power supply.
• You’ll generate requirements and functional specifications for systems and constituent products such as generators, switchboards, transformers, power electronic converters, motors, and energy storage systems.

Your Experience
• A power electronics background with good power converter knowledge is crucial, and the role includes supervisory responsibilities.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; Masters or PhD in power electronics is desirable.
• Knowledge of power electronics converter design and electrical machines control methods is desirable.
• Proficient in semiconductor device domain knowledge and associated gating electronics & snubber circuits design and thermal design.
• Skilled in using power electronics design tools such as Mathcad, MATLAB, Simulink, PLECS, etc.
