The role
As a Strategic Systems Training Infrastructure Lead, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will lead a project to develop a training facility for strategic weapons support systems training.

Day to day, you'll work with our Mission Systems Dreadnought team and our Submarine Delivery Agency customers to track and communicate progress, spend and risks of the developing training facility. Your valued insight and organisation skills will help the submarine community to achieve our goals and support the Royal Navy's submarine fleet:

  • Lead on defining, costing, bounding and managing essential training infrastructure and material tasks to help deliver a training solution fit for the future.
  • Organise and track progress of tasks and report progress to Dreadnought Training and SW leads.
  • Highlight risks and work with the team to create plans to succeed.
  • Host working groups to identify problems and highlight these to our MOD customers.

This role is full time 36 hours per week and will be based at HMNB Clyde with hybrid working from home arrangements. There will also be occasional travel required for the role.

Essential experience of the Strategic Systems Training Infrastructure Lead:

  • Experience with Strategic Weapons Support Systems
  • Submarine / Maritime in service support experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of project management tools and policy, project controls, life cycles, schedules and risks.
  • Experience in a project management role, or as a warrant officer or above in the Navy, or as a civil servant with relevant knowledge and skills

Qualifications for the Strategic Systems Training Infrastructure Lead:

  • Project Management professional body membership preferred.
  • HNC or above in Engineering / Project Management or suitably qualified by experience

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
