Job Title: Test Equipment Hardware Engineer

Salary: Up to £51,380 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

  • To act as Test Equipment Hardware Engineer, providing comprehensive and effective Engineering support service for Underwater Weapon test equipment
  • To support Lead Test Equipment Engineer, in day to day activities to ensure Test Equipment availability
  • Diagnosing, surveying and maintaining a wide range of Special to Type and COTS Test Equipment
  • Influence and deliver design obsolescence tasks, including implementation of new hardware at BAE Broad Oak, Portsmouth ensuring that its design aims and requirements are met
  • Compiles and approves designs, changes, tasks and concessions

Your skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge and experience with typical Automatic Test Equipment hardware including COTS instrumentation
  • Understand and carry out necessary activity to maintain the design standard of in-service Test Equipment
  • Have experience of how to perform the routine delivery of Test Equipment in use at local and customer sites
  • Potential to act as Design Authority for specified existing and new items of Test Equipment
  • Able to conduct electrical investigations into Test equipment issues

The Torpedo Test Equipment team:

To be part of the 15 man Torpedo Test Equipment Team providing comprehensive and effective Engineering support service for existing Spearfish and Sting Ray test equipment utilised in the UK at BAE & MoD sites. This role will provide engineering support delivering Test Equipment upgrades to the existing fleet of Test Equipment. The Torpedo Test Equipment Team is part of the wider Torpedo In-Service Support Group.
