Biocatalysts develop and manufacture speciality enzymes from small to large scale quantities for a variety of industries such as food, flavor, fragrance, life science, pharma and fine chemicals. Due to our on-going commitment to expanding our manufacturing capabilities within our fermentation plant, we have an opportunity for a Process Technician who will be part of our highly motivated team.

Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 depending on experience + shift allowance + bonus + substantial benefits

Location: Nantgarw, Cardiff

Hours: Working 4 x 12 hr day shifts (rolling week) Start time: 6:00 am/Finish time: 6:00 pm

(During training period – hours will be 4 x 12 hr day shift – 4 on/4 off rolling week)

5 GCSEs A-C grade including English and Maths or equivalent or NVQ (L3) in Process Operations or Cert. in Process Technology (L3) is essential along with experience in safely operating and maintaining equipment such as fermenters, centrifuges, tanks, pumps and filters.

Stage 2

Video conference Interviews (via Microsoft Teams) will be scheduled for Wednesday 3rd & Friday 5th November 2021. You will need to allow up to 1 hour and you will be interviewed by our Fermentation Manager and HR Officer/Manager. We will explore your experience and personal qualities that are relative to the role.

Applicants short listed for 2nd interview will be sent the following:

• Personality Profile Analysis (PPA) questionnaire – this helps us understand your working style. This questionnaire is not concerned with abilities but will help us to find out more about how you like to work. There are no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ answers or ‘good’ or ‘bad’ qualities to these questionnaires

Stage 3

2nd interviews are scheduled for Wednesday, 10 November 2021. Please allow up to 1 hour for this.

This is the final stage of the process and you will be invited to Biocatalysts and have a tour of our facility - subject to Government Guidelines on Covid-19.

You will also need to provide evidence of your qualifications and eligibility to work in the UK.

Following the interview, we will be able to let you know whether or not you have been successful within 48 hours. It is only at this stage that references, subject to your approval, will be checked should an offer be made.
