Scope and Purpose

* To ensure customer satisfaction across QCDR is consistent with the sales plan, working to our internal KPI targets
* To select, develop and manage the performance of resources within the Production Group, taking corrective action as necessary
* Managing the Manufacturing or Assembly departments to ensure that a high utilisation of manpower and capital equipment is achieved
* Supporting planning and scheduling of production activities and supervising the production process
* Apply the company Health and Safety policies ensuring they are adhered to at all times



Duties and Responsibilities

* Ensuring the effective management of the team and the organisation’s resources
* Monitoring the production practices and setting the schedules as required
* Liaising across multiple departments (Planning, Production Engineering and Quality) to prevent any probable delay
* Supervising and inspiring their teams whilst improving performance
* Be familiar with the processes under their accountability, have hands on experience of working in a precision engineering environment
* Ensure production times are challenged and improved where possible
* Monitor and correct any safety breeches
* Verify that all production records and logs are complete and accurate
* Set priority of work load in associated areas, adopting DBR principles
* Monitor production tools and equipment, report production or safety problems in a timely manner
* In conjunction with supporting functions develop standard work for new products/modified products being introduced to the manufacturing area
* To lead by example in work ethic, attitude, and following of work policies
* Recognise and recommend excellent individual performance, celebrate success of the team
* Identify and action training needs across the team

* Key member of the Production Management team
* Assisting the development of production schedule and subsequent achievement in a timely and cost effective manner whilst ensuring stock under direct and indirect control are maintained at agreed levels

Qualifications

* Essential

* A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a precision manufacturing environment
* Ability to understand capacity management and production scheduling
* HND/HNC (or equivalent) in a technical or management subject
* Knowledge of Quality Systems and Standards; ISO 9001 , AS9100
* Experience in working with ERP/MRP Systems
* Proven historic experience of managing people; up-to 30 maximu

* Desirable

* Supervisory qualifications (e.g. ILM level 3)
* ISOH Managing Safely qualification or equivalent
* Certificate in Operations Management
* Working knowledge of continuous Improvements techniques
* Wide ranging manufacturing process knowledge, across differing materials in 2-5 axis applications
