To contribute towards and be responsible for the delivery of the commercial objectives and



business plan in line with business unit and national strategies.



Operate entirely within the requirements of the Company’s Processes, Policies and Procedures

Identify and target work in line with BU strategy.

Monitor the production of competitive tenders and ensure compliance with internal review procedures

Identify and engage with clients to develop a full understanding of customer needs and structure bids in line with their requirements.



Identify and deliver the business units commercial strategy.



Identify commercial opportunities in line with local

strategy to secure a long term work bank

Ensure that quality, competitive tenders are submitted

and key targeted contracts are won, taking into account

business capacity, margins, financial and contractual

risks.

Undertake pre-contract commercial reviews with the

operations and QS teams to identify opportunities and

risk within proposed future contracts.

Manage the production and submission of all tender

information relating to commercial functions, including

external commercial consultancy resources.

Encourage and promote the use of alternative

sustainable internal materials.

Identify and develop beneficial commercial relationships

with new and existing customers/clients in order to

develop and expand market share in line with the

national commercial strategy.

To ensure policies and procedures including health and

safety requirements are fully compliant with legislation,

and changes are effectively communicated and

implemented

Coach, lead, manage and develop a motivated Commercial

team to achieve the Company’s objectives

Ensure Training plans are appropriate for all operational staff,

organise any necessary training

Ensure any people issues within the team including Absence

Management, Training Plans, learning and development,

Performance Management are being managed effectively.

Coach manager where appropriate

Talent and Succession plans are up to date and in place

Proactively manage communication with all Operational staff

to ensure company announcements and information is

distributed and understood.

Proactively manages their own CPD

Strong commercial experience of securing major / key works in a competitive market.



Leading a team.



Portfolio of winning key bids.



Collaborative working to create competitive bids.



Strong network within the industry.
