Key Tasks

- Being accountable for the safe, efficient and effective maintenance and operation of all relevant hardware and software, identifying and reporting any associated issues as appropriate

- Adopting an exemplar approach to Health and Safety, leading to a working environment for the role holder, his / her team, contractors and colleagues where risks are managed and controlled to a high standard

- Undertaking development work as necessary to provide controlled modifications to plant and process within clear guidelines and procedures

- Demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement, identifying and proposing new approaches, technologies, or procedures across the scope of the role

- Producing and managing budgets, both for projects and day to day operations

- Leading and developing a team of engineers and technicians, with contractor support as required, to ensure they are technically capable, and have the necessary attitude, to deliver a first class service to internal customers

- Developing operational strategies to maximise equipment up time through ensuring the appropriate levels of inventory, in terms of both stock levels, and accessibility of stock, held either internally or externally


- Delivering a first class service, through developing relationships with key internally stakeholders, in addition to becoming a respected member of the Infinis management team

- Ensuring a thorough root cause analysis of major, complex or financially impactful breakdowns or events, delivering clear, concise reports, and supporting the implementation of any corrective actions



Person detail

- Demonstrable expertise in specific control disciplines such as distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA).

- Experience of working in a safety-driven comparable industry (ideally power generation or a related utility or similar organisation)

- Highly credible and effective communicator

- Exceptional leadership and influencing skills

- A flexible approach to work, both in terms of geographical location, and at times putting in additional hours to satisfy key business objectives

- Commercial awareness

- A commitment to quality and ‘right first time’ solutions

- A track record of effective project management and budgetary control

- Membership of an appropriate professional body is expected but not essential
