An award-winning MEP consulting engineering practice with offices in the UK and the Middle East, has a vacancy for a Senior Mechanical Design Enginner.

The business has developed an excellent reputation for delivering a client-focused, quality service, much of which can be attributed to the principle of having directors and senior management committed on projects from initial concept stage through to completion.

As the successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working along with their talented team of mechanical, electrical and public health engineers to offer the full range of design and consultancy services from surveys and feasibility studies through to detailed design.

You will work on new build, refurbishment and infrastructure projects of all sizes delivering sustainable, affordable, well-designed building services across a variety of sectors.

You will be ambitious, capable of representing the company at Design team and Client meetings and ideally looking to progress to an associate position within the London office in around 18 months.

Main Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the director you will manage and lead the mechanical building services elements of complex or highly technical projects. You will be expected to work on a variety of sectors, including : Commercial Offices Cat ‘A’ and Cat’ B’, Education projects including Colleges, Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools, Residential schemes and Retail including Shopping Complexes, Mixed Use schemes. Restaurants, kitchens hotels and high end housing/flats.

Main Duties and Responsibilities;

 Management of projects to achieve client satisfaction and profitability for the business

 Identify and manage resources to achieve project requirements

 Financial management and reporting on project profitability ( that is looking at resourcing time and grades of engineers and reporting to director)

 Technical and quality reviews of project information

 Developing conceptual & detailed designs solutions in line with client’s brief

 Production of mechanical specifications

 Production of Reports.

 Represent the business at external functions

 Assist the Directors as required in the preparation of fee submissions and project bids

 Conduct oneself professionally at all times and in a responsible manner

 Reviewing technical competency of mechanical engineering building services work

 Design, supervision and technical reviewing of allocated projects

 Provide specialist technical advice and guidance at project and group level

 Management, supervision and mentoring of intermediate and graduate engineer
