Senior Systems Engineer – CCTV / Security

This is an immediate requirement for a Systems Engineer or Electrical Engineer with experience of designing large CCTV and security systems.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to work for a leading controls design and integration company in the Reading area. This Engineer role will be working on a large new infrastructure programme covering multiple sites across the Thames Valley area. Your role will be to oversee the systems design, review and sign off of multiple CCTV and security systems being supplied by third party contractors.

Please note this role will be 60% office based to 40% site based. All travel will be in the Thales Valley area.

Responsibilities for this role

- Supervision of contractors
- Assisting the scheme PM in visiting sites
- Reviewing designs by suppliers
- Attending site and head office progress meetings on the behalf of the PM
- Surveying and obtaining information from sites and other systems
- Checking/writing and preparing documentation
- Coordinating the testing, commissioning and beneficial handover of security assets to the end user
- Onsite stakeholder liaison and support

Requirements for this role

- Able to write design and specifications
- Able to author and create survey documentation of legacy equipment
- Able to review suppliers designs and also carry out the design of security solutions
- Able to prioritise their own time and work independently to achieve target dates and meet budgets
- Delivery of multiple complex systems across multiple sites simultaneously
- Fully trained and experienced in site based H&S activities

Please note this is not a hand’s on role. I’m happy to see CV’s from installation Engineers but only if you have significant experience of managing the complete design and installation process.

Due to the nature of the work at these sites, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.
