Job Description
- To support development of the policy and procedures for allocation, and subsequent justification, of CS Functional Safety
- To include review of CS & WB Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) work to date to identify any gaps/flaws
- Review of CS Functional Integrity Level (FIL) allocation to identify any gaps/flaws
- Review of the CS architecture to identify and manage any common-mode risks
- To develop policies and procedures, to confirm and document, that agreed Integrity Levels are met
- To set system, sub-system & component level requirements, in accordance with the policy, to ensure Integrity claims are met
- Above to be developed in liaison with Whole Boat Safety Team and Common Combat System (CCS) stakeholders (BAE & MoD)





The Individual
1. Candidates should have considerable (5+ yrs) experience in Functional Safety justification to a recognised standard e.g. IEC61508, ARP4761
2. Good interpersonal skills are essential, liaison with stakeholders at all levels to develop and present convincing and coherent arguments/policies
3. Good written/presentation skills to document the processes and plans to be applied.
Responsibilities:
1. Previous experience developing and delivering Safety Cases (for MoD projects)
2. Previous experience of working to Def Stan 00-56 (Safety Case development)
