Job role:

You will be one of a team of four Design Manager/Co-ordinator’s which is being brought together.

As Design Manager you will be responsible for balancing the needs of the client and positively influencing the programme proposals to ensure successful delivery. You will be a Principal Designer for all CDM projects carried out by the team. The role includes responsibility for all outputs of the team, quality control of their work, supervision of their programme and cost compliance.

The role requires an enthusiastic approach to the development of more junior members of the team, supporting their progress to professional qualification. Experience in the design and delivery of large scale clean water infrastructure projects is essential and familiarity with Severn Trent Water documentation and processes would be an advantage, though not essential.

About You:

You will have membership of a relevant professional institution, appropriate academic qualification and/or demonstrable experience in design and design management.

You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in water supply design projects of a similar scale and nature. You'll be able to understand, propose and discuss with the Client the operational activities associated with works on the water supply network.

At Principal Engineer level you will have knowledge and experience of the Consultant’s responsibilities in water design projects. You will have the ability to provide line management, advice and guidance to your team.

You will have the drive and determination to ensure your team meets all targets for budget, programme, quality, safety and performance.
