Their team in London are seeking an experienced Installation Technician to join their team in London.

The Role exists to provide the installation of cabling and equipment infrastructure and assets on the TCMS Network. To provide support to the on-site supervisor and project manager to ensure that the required project installation achieves the required milestones and that all works are completed including any associated snagging to enable equipment handover to the Commissioning Team and TfL.


o Installation of cables and electronic equipment associated with Traffic Signals, OVDS, and VMS systems
o Work with either the LOHAC or nominated Civils Engineers on site to ensure that the required ducting and installation of NAL Sockets / Signal Posts are located as identified in the latest Site Layout Diagram
o Ensure that cables installed are marked in accordance with the electrical tagging sheet issued with the electrical design drawings and details
o Carry out the required cable tests (core to core etc) and electrical insulation and earth tests as required to ensure that the system is ready for the electrical supply connection
o Provide support to the Capital Works Supervisor
o Attending and proactively participating in the Team meetings
o Responsible for keeping NHSS Portfolio current and up to date, ensuring that the responsible Team Leader is provided with the opportunity to gather the required evidence and Abide by all statutory and mandatory requirements
o To contact and inform Fault Control with all details of activity carried out on site to enable SFM to be updated
o Abide by the company policy and procedures;
o Complete all training courses as required
o Responsible for ensuring that consumable and vehicle stock levels are maintained
o Complete all paperwork as required
o Be responsible for matters with safety with respect to yourself and others

Key Requirements:

o Installation and testing of electrical / electronic equipment
o Experience of working on Low and Extra Low voltage equipment
o Experienced in the installation of cables through ducts and working with Civil Engineers on site installations
o The ability to understand pro drawings detailing equipment positions and cable runs
o NRSWA qualification
o Understand the requirements of the various test’s required for the cables and equipment and utility services on site
o Understand the Requirements of BS7671 17th Edition Regulations
o A good working knowledge of NHSS HERS Sector 8
o G39 Certificated
o Knowledge of traffic related equipment
o Self-managed engineer, to ensure targets are achieved
o The ability to work in potentially stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and effective performance
o The ability to carry out testing in accordance with NHSS and where applicable NiCEiC requirements including 2382 and 2392 and either have competency or qualification attained or to be attained.
o Basic First Aid;
o Basic Understanding of Dynamic Risks and Methods
o Basic Health & Safety Knowledge;
