Their team in London are seeking an experienced Fields Service Technician to join their team.

The Technician will be responsible to attend faults on Traffic Signals, Variable Message Signs, and Overheight Vehicle Detection as directed by the Control Room

Responsibilities:

o Working across a defined geographical area and provide maintenance, repair and operational Equipment i.e. Traffic Signals Assets defined under the terms of the contract.
o Carry out duties of the various engineer roles as Directed
o Arrange and proactively participating in the various Team meetings
o Carry out testing in accordance with NHSS and where applicable NiCEiC requirements including 2382 and 2392
o Complete all training courses as required
o To work various shifts patterns (combination of days/nights/weekends) in accordance with the contractual requirements and as per team rota
o To attend Faults and rectify if possible and clear these with Control room In a timely manner.
o Prioritize work load accordingly to reduce carbon footprint and reduce unavailability time
o To attend emergency/Direction Faults in a timely manner and update faults accordingly with TCMS time restraints.

Qualifications/skills:
Essential:

o The ability to work in potentially stressful situations while maintaining professionalism and effective performance
o The ability to carry out testing in accordance with NHSS and where applicable NiCEiC requirements including 2382 and 2392 and either have competency or qualification attained or to be attained
o Basic Electrical Knowledge
o Basic First Aid
o Basic Understanding of Dynamic Risks and Methods
o Basic Health & Safety Knowledge
o Good Interpersonal skills
o Good Customer Relations
o Ability to learn new tasks quickly
o Personal Road Safety
o Traffic Principles
o Signing Lighting & Guarding
o The ability to carry out testing in accordance with NHSS and where applicable NiCEiC requirements including 2382 and 2392 and either have competency or qualification attained or to be attained
o Excellent standards of paperwork and report writing
o Ability to deal with the client effectively and to ensure deadlines are met
o Qualified to ONC or BTEC in Electronic Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
o Experience of Maintenance on modern electronic equipment
o Experience of supervising Teams
o Minimum 5 years experience of working in a traffic systems related environment complete with NVQ in electronic related discipline or NHSS 8 portfolio (ideally)
o 2 years experience of maintaining and repairing equipment in a roadside or similar environment (essential)
o Full Driving Licence
o Desirable:
