A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chartered Structural Engineer to join a vibrant, successful, Civil and Structural Consultancy based in a dynamic team in Sheffield.

Our client is seeking a Chartered Structural Engineer who would like to join an organisation where they can have exposure and work on a variety of projects with a clear pipeline for progression. Projects vary in size and scope ranging from Building Restoration to Commercial and Retail, High Rise and Low Rise Housing Developments and Public Buildings. Some of the most recent projects have been with Sheffield University, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Tata Steel, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and Sheffield United alongside many of the major house builders. Our client prides itself on a longstanding relationships with many of its loyal clients.

For this Chartered Structural Engineer role our client is offering a competitive salary (which a reviewed twice yearly) contributory pension scheme and life insurance alongside a generous holiday allowance of up to 26 days + bank holidays .They also offer a discounted health cash plan which can assist with a number of every day medical costs e.g. dental and optical.

Academic Requirements: Ideally candidates will have a Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or Equivalent) and be Chartered or working towards with ICE or IStrucTE.

Job Responsibilities:

* The structural design of Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Portal Frame and Traditional Domestic structures,
* A knowledge of software packages such as MasterSeries and CSC Fastrak, Strand7 to assist with calculations and structural design,
* The preparation and review of drawings and detailing of the systems designed,
* Report writing and preparation of design quotes,
* The supervision and checking and signing off of work,
* The coordination of work with engineers of other disciplines,
* To attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them,
* Good commercial and financial awareness of project costings.
