We are currently working with a Top Tier Contractor looking for a Lead Civils Designer to undertake the Contractor Engineering Manager duties (CEM) on the Western Building and Civil Framework based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for someone whom is experienced in undertaking a Lead Civil Engineering looking to undertake the Engineering Management duties. Ideally you would have acted as CEM on Network Rail schemes, however if you have demonstrable experience then the relevant Engineering Contractor can support you. 

Within the position you will responsible for the delivery of engineering, focusing on the implementation of design, build, testing and commissioning for the Building, Civils and Minor Civils frameworks. You will be accountable for project engineering covering the design, implementation, testing & commissioning and entry into service phases of the project. 

Typical duties can include:

  • Design Management.
  • Design Integration including interdisciplinary checks, BIM and other forms of system modelling.
  • Technical Assurance including requirements capture, verification and validation techniques.
  • Construction processes.
  • Testing and commissioning processes.
Job requirements

  • Experience in undertaking the position of the CDM Co-ordinator
  • Ideally acted as a Contractors Engineering Manager before
  • Rail Civils background
This position could be suitable for some from a Senior or Principal Civil Engineering, Design Manager or Project Engineering background familiar with undertaking, or has undertaken the CEM duties on Network Rail Schemes.
