The successful candidate will work as part of the engineering team carrying out testing at equipment and system levels capturing test evidence. This may involve testing across either of the main business areas of Air to Air Refuelling and Auxiliary Mission Equipment.

The Test/Development Engineer will be expected to follow current departmental processes. The successful candidate will work as part of the engineering team at IPT level or at product level supporting test activities to demonstrate function and performance in environment. The majority of the work will be carried out at external test facilities used by Cobham Mission Systems in the UK. Occasional overseas (infrequent) travel may be required.

Qualifications and experience will ideally include:

* Relevant degree or equivalent
* Experience of requirements management tools (DOORS, CRADLE etc.)
* Knowledge of environmental standards (RTCA DO160, MIL-STD-810 etc.)
* Experience of performing environmental and functional testing
* Experience of development engineering activities and understanding of product lifecycles.

Candidates should have worked in a test environment (ideally Aerospace) with particular experience working with RTCA DO160 & MIL-STD-810 standards testing products.

Candidates must have Environmental Test experience and be able to document Quality Test Plans and Quality Test Results.

Candidates should have created / run test procedures in at least 7 of the following test scenarios:

Temperature, Altitude, Temperature Variation, Humidity, Operational Shock & Crash safety, Vibration, Explosion proof, Water proof, Fluids susceptibility, Sand & Dust, Fungus Resistance, Salt & Fog, Icing, ESD & Fire / Flammability.

Candidates will be working with sensitive data and as such you should be willing to undergo BPSS (Baseline) & Disclosure Scotland Security Vetting before being able to commence the contract.

Due to the niche experience required for this requirement, an attractive rate will be offered and will be based on experience and discussed upon application. For any candidate who doesn't live locally to Wimborne, a 4 day week may be offered and again will be discussed on application.
