This role will require the candidate to initially test and verify systems in a test environment before installing them and validating their operation. Once installed and signed off the candidate will support the platform on customer sites in the region.

A level of programming debugging will be required to assist the development team in diagnosing onsite issues. This will also include networking support, basic code diagnostics and hardware support.

The systems being deployed are based on traditional SCADA systems.

Willingness to travel and work on customer locations through the Midlands as well possession of a driving license is essential in this position.


* Machine Interface client’s setup and commissioning on standalone and networked systems.
* Set up and commissioning of hardware and software-based solutions developed in-house and deployed on various sites in the UK
* Upgrading of these systems on new releases of software or versions
* Commissioning of communications between all clients and plant equipment.
* An understanding of networks from a firewall / VLAN user authorization perspective
* Analysis of faults/issues and the reporting of solutions in the field or escalation to the design team for rectification
* Knowledge of SCADA (WINCC) applications and the ability to install and modify or add graphical screens data points or simple animation
* A good understanding of the Visual Basic Script programming language.
* Some knowledge of SQL Databases (in relation to SCADA systems).
* Understanding of PLC systems and some knowledge in their operation communications and data structures
* OPC server setup or configuration to ensure data rates and connectivity.
* Understanding of safe working practices

Educational level:

IT/Software/Engineering based Degree or HNC with a proven track record of implementing systems within a manufacturing arena, ideally over substantial period of time.


Ideally Midlands/Leeds, other locations will be considered
