An exciting opportunity exists within the Electrification & Plant (E&P) team in IP Great Western & Crossrail. You will be joining a highly experienced and motivated team who is looking to expand to support a number of new and exciting projects.

The E&P team is presently working on a number of high profile jobs across Western and Wales which include the compliance of signalling power assets against the requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations and BS7671.

We are looking for a Project Engineer (E&P) who has experience in the design and construction of all, or some, of the following installations:

* Signalling power distribution,
* Points heating,
* Lighting
* Low voltage (BS7671)

The successful candidate will ensure E&P projects are compliant to relevant standards and legislation and are delivered to programme and cost.

The role will predominately be based in Swindon, but it will involve working at various project offices throughout the region to support project activities.

Essential

* Electrical &/or Electronics technical qualifications (Degree/HNC/HND).
* Experience of Signalling Power, Points Heating, Lighting and LV (BS7671) designs and installations, ideally with involvement in construction activities and projects across multi discipline areas.
* Experience and/or a good understanding of carrying out risk evaluation and assessments in accordance with Construction (Design Management) Regulations and Common Safety Method.
* The ability to make informed decisions.
* Experience in quality assurance of engineering deliverables.
* Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of work.

Desirable

* Membership of a relevant professional body
* Chartered status in a relevant professional body
* Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
* An appreciation of environmental issues in engineering works.
* Project safety management experience.
