The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Working in a multi discipline product design team responsible for development of analytical instruments. The work will include areas such as: control of fluids, creation of mechanical components, electromechanical mechanisms, working with electrochemistry, optics and micro fluidics. The ideal candidate will be an experienced mechanical engineer with a scientific background

 Working in a multi-discipline product design team to create water and gas analyzers
 Innovate own designs from specifications. Produce and evaluate conceptual designs and models. Create drawings and assembly details.
 Work with suppliers to produce production quality components
 Work with other departments for the procurement and manufacture of mechanical assemblies
 Maintenance of designs using Autocad & SolidWorks
 Ensuring that design changes are implemented by the team in a timely manner
 Mentoring and assistance of other mechanical engineers
 Problem solving of design related issues on existing and new product developments
 Meet objectives agreed with supervisor as far as timescales, cost estimates and technical performance are concerned
 Health, Safety and Environmental performance: ensure in all aspects of work these areas are given the correct level of attention.
 Compliance. Ensure all relevant standards and guidelines are adhered to.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant technical subject. Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
• 3D CAD experience (either SolidWorks/ProE)
• Good knowledge of materials for sensing technology
• Able to embrace new technologies to create innovative solutions
• Practical, hands on creative designer able to generate design concepts from scratch
• Able to demonstrate attention to detail
• Proven problem solving skills
• Self motivated, able to take the initiative
• Familiar with rapid prototype techniques

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Scientific background
• Experience with Windchill PDM
• Supervision of other engineers
• Experience of working with industrial instrumentation
