We are currently looking for a Lead (Senior) Civil Engineer to be based in Glasgow for a major contractor working on rail schemes and projects. You will be responsible for leading and directing the Civils team maintaining as an interface between the various disciplines, and deputizing for the Civil Design Manager.  You would be typically working on Civil or small Structures schemes in regards to Network Rail, supplementing signaling and Level Crossing schemes. Given that this would be working for a design house for a major contractor it would give you an opportunity to work throughout the Civils project lifecycle from initial design to construction. 

You would be leading the junior engineers, and supporting projects on the commercial elements. This therefore would be a good opportunity for someone whom is currently working at Senior Civil Engineer with experience in undertaking a Lead Engineer role, or a candidate whom is undertaking a Project Engineering position within Rail Civil Design schemes. 

Job Requirements
  • Working towards Chartership, or Chartered
  • Experience working within a Design environment on Rail Civils schemes
  • Computer literate and experienced in design software; knowledge of AutoCAD, TEDDS, Pframe / Superstress essential and knowledge of Slope W and Repute would be desirable.
