The Company:
Is a leading Automotive manufacturer with a reputation for outstanding quality the world over. With demand increasing and an upturn in production, there is a need to bring further skills into the business to deliver on current and future projects.

The Role:
Main Goals and Objectives:
Deliver Engineering requirements for Functional Ownership and FuSi systems.
Working with the Feature Owners to define test plans for Functional Ownership and FuSi, responsible for the system test & validation of a defined Function.
Is responsible to provide engineering signoff for systems in area of responsibility

Main Responsibilities:

1. Support and Lead System Integration for Functional Ownership and FuSi.
Advanced Awareness of Vehicle systems, operations and component integration. Ability to work with and Lead the Feature Owners to capture and specify the system design requirements in area of responsibility. Lead the Function Engineering test & validation planning, ensuring product level records of test and sign off for systems in area of responsibility.
Ability to influence with feature Owner the final component design to meet the vehicle system requirements.

2. Delivery of projects
Responsible for planning and managing Functional Ownership and FuSi related activities on a Weekly Basis. Reporting of status for area of responsibility in functional area. Intermediate understanding of cross functional working with other areas of the business. Active participation working with the Feature Owner and suppliers for progressing project deliverables. Basic financial awareness of their role in the organisation. Knowledge of cost of parts and systems with an understanding of value engineering.

3. Problem Solving
Ability to solve complex Engineering and design related problems, with company tools. Analysis and management of several design related issues to identify the root cause.
Collect, manage and analyse data to produce reports/presentations as appropriate and progress design guidelines. Deliver presentations at appropriate level.

4. Developing and maintaining Specialist knowledge
Responsible for keeping the local team up-to-date with technology in area of responsibility. Capture learning from previous experience. Understand and maintain liaison with VW group partners to keep up to date with latest group developments.

5. Ability to work within a team
Able to work effectively in the functional team. Support of own contribution in delivering team objectives.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Ability to communicate at various levels across the company in different forums
Design and development skills
Vehicle Electronics Integration Knowledge
Ability to influence colleagues within your area of responsibility
Understanding of financial limits within area of responsibility
Skills required by local area
German language preferable.
Ability to solve problems

Advanced Knowledge of: Vehicle Electronic and System Integration, knowledge of Software tools to enable test and validation of vehicle system. Proficient understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP)

Engineering Degree or equivalent
Associate membership of a relevant professional intuition preferable
