The Company:
A global market-leading provider of infrastructure, consultancy and software solutions to the energy industry. The solutions help energy customers, throughout the EMEA region, carry out critical business functions like planning, simulation and forecasting, as well as commercial operations of their assets.

The Role:
The Principal Consultant will play a lead role in power market analysis of the European market including mentoring a new office in Eastern Europe.

You will gain commercial experience, be travelling internationally, have excellent global opportunities for rapid career progression, and be involved in concept development of products.

Main accountabilities of the role involve:

• Provide authoritative energy market insights and analysis to clients by maintaining and using deep knowledge of electric and fuel markets, economic and technology trends, industry practices, regional developments and/or subject matter developments.

• Contribute to the growth of the EPM and Advisory business by mentoring junior and mid-level staff, participating in practice strategic planning activities, and providing leadership.

• Lead, project manage and perform advisory consulting either directly or through junior resources as appropriate, and develop required models, reports, studies and presentations.

• Provide primary expertise and support for sales and marketing activities including delivering of webcasts, material, thought leadership, client and conference presentations, etc.

• Lead the price forecasting reports and associated database production, author reports and determine the strategic focus and methodology employed by the team.

• Direct the development of data products, including dataset for market modelling tools, and develop and maintain rigorous processes for data quality assurance.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Operational Research or related quantitative subject.

• Minimum ten years’ experience in leading and delivering energy market consulting to participants in European energy markets. Ideally with background in trading in European power markets and risk analysis.

• Deep, authoritative expert in European power markets including market operation, fundamentals, drivers, challenges, opportunities, emerging trends, industry practices, policies and data.

• Experienced in identifying and leading business development with participants in energy industry, including investors and banks.

• Experienced with an energy market modelling, simulation and analysis solution.

• Team leadership experience

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Advanced or Postgraduate degree

• European language skills

• Knowledge and experience in use of statistical analysis and visualization tools
