Principal Town Planner – Cardiff

£35,000 - £45,000

Penguin Recruitment are delighted to represent a highly successful multi-disciplinary consultancy who are looking for a dynamic Principal Town Planner to join their expanding team based in South Wales and deliver a diverse range of projects of all scales.

The Principal Town Planner will have a track record of handling and processing both minor and major applications/appeals. The Principal Town Planner will be managing their own work load, as well as supporting the Planning Directors across all sectors.

Key responsibilities:

* Preparing and submitting planning applications and supporting documents (writing of Planning Statements, Design & Access Statements)
* Preparing of Policy representations
* Working with clients on Enforcement matters
* Preparing Appeal submissions
* Development plan monitoring and representations
* Giving oral evidence at Appeals and Examinations
* Developing client relationships both new and existing
* Environment Impact Assessment

The Principal Planner will hold full MRTPI status, or be in the process of ascertaining the accreditation shortly. You will ideally have past experience of mentoring junior members of staff and will be an all-round team player – flexible, proactive and willing to learn new skills. The Principal Planner will have a minimum of 4 years’ planning experience, preferably in the private sector although public sector candidates with a strong commercial mind-set will be encouraged to apply.
