BMS Engineer Derby £35k - £45k negotiable dependent upon experience

Our internationally renowned client specialise in the provision of solutions allied to the automation, monitoring and remote control of HVAC sites and ensuring customer requirements are met in a range of applications including boiler/ burner automation, remote management systems, valves and actuators, gas detection and energy control systems. As a result of continued success and a planned programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic BMS Engineer to provide professional technical support to a range of customers throughout the UK as well as pre and post-sale technical assistance on the company’s product portfolio.

Based out of Derby, the successful BMS Engineer candidate will perform a range of duties including installation and commissioning, PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance and repair work across the country, as well as assisting service partners in undertaking site visits and evaluating technical performance as required. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for ensuring the on-time completion of installation projects as well as for the completion of associated documentation and reports, accurately detailing faulty parts that are to be returned to the manufacturers as well as providing training and support to end users on the range of company equipment.

With excellent customer facing communication skills at all levels, you will also be confident in advising customers of potential upgrades, enhancements and modifications that could be made available and “up-selling” wherever possible.

To be considered for this varied and challenging BMS Engineer role, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will demonstrate a high level understanding of HVAC principles, with a strong technical understanding of electronics and basic test/measurement equipment, realistically having worked for at least 3 years or more within a field service capacity repairing HVAC systems and qualified to at least HND or above in an HVAC or Electronic Engineering discipline. An appreciation of PLC programming will prove distinctly advantageous.

Able to work autonomously and use your initiative, you will be proficient in reading, analysing and interpreting technical projects, professional documents, technical procedures and relevant legislation, with the ability to generate accurate reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals as required, along with the ability to product presentations and respond to technical questions from managers, clients, and customers as necessary. You will be flexible to travel across mainland UK and Europe as required, and a full clean UK driving licence and valid passport are therefore essential for the position.
