Job Title: Team Manager

Location: Bromsgrove

Salary: £30,000 per annum + incentive bonus

Working Hours: 45 hours + any additional hours required to fulfil role and responsibilities

Our Client is an asset and energy support services group that constructs, improves, maintains and provides services to homes, schools, public and commercial buildings with a focus on the UK public sector and regulated markets.

The Role:

To effectively and productively manage Gas & Electric engineers in the delivery of gas & electric metering activities. Ensure gas & electric engineers are competent and achieve Health / Safety and Quality standards. Carry out metering activities when required.

* Effective delivery of gas and metering activities of a team of engineers.
* All metering activities are carried out in a compliant manner.
* All engineers are monitored on their performance.
* Downtime / productivity is managed and reduced / improved.
* Customers are satisfied with engineers’ activities.
* Team of engineers are co-ordinated in an efficient manner.

Duties / Tasks:

* Mentor, coach and train poor performing engineers where required.
* Complete Health, Safety, Quality and Compliance audits.
* Monitor, maintain and carry out on-call activities where required.
* Provide technical assistance to gas & electric engineers.
* Manage engineers’ vehicle stock levels – meters & associated fittings.
* Manage and co-ordinate engineers’ vehicles – breakdowns / servicing etc.
* Act on escalated customer issues and resolve to the customers satisfaction.
* Ensure engineers carry out their duties in a considerate manner, delivering customer service excellence.
* Provide detailed reports where they concern an engineer in your team.
* Actively assist the Engineering Performance manager with performance improvements.
* Carry out tool box talks as required.
* Conduct 1-to-1’s with engineers in your team as part of a performance review.
* Collect and collate all associated documentation associated with your team’ metering activities.
* Assist your engineers with any electronic data flow system issues.
* Produce detailed records of “downtime” generated by engineers in your team and report in a timely manner.
* Carry out any ad-hoc duty as instructed by your Engineering Performance Manager.

Skills and Requirements:

* Formal qualifications in the gas or electric utility industry.
* A minimum of 1 year experience of managing an operational team within the gas & electric metering industry.
* Performance management – strong leadership skills and assertive by nature
* Analytical – monitors processes that influence outcomes
* Team builder – an ability to identify strengths and weaknesses
* Team player – engages all employees within the business
