An opportunity exists within the Hybrid and Electronic System Team for a Senior Engineer to deliver on-going client technology projects.

Job Duties:

To be a key part of project delivery teams, leading technical tasks for overall successful delivery of the client projects:

1 Provide technical delivery of electrical and electronic projects
2 Interface with clients on technical issues
3 Focus on high technical input for on-time and on-budget delivery
4 Technical ownership of areas of the system design, development and / or validation of electrical and electronic systems
5 Support of the sales teams through client interaction & proposal support
6 Promotion of capability throughout the global customer base

Required Qualifications and Experience:

1 The successful applicant will have a sound engineering background, a number of years of experience of successfully delivering projects in a controls and electronic environment either in an OEM or Tier 1 capacity
2 Minimum degree in an Engineering or Science related discipline (e.g. electrical and electronic engineering / mechanical engineering / physics / computer science / software engineering / maths / control engineering)
3 A demonstrated ability to design analogue, digital and power electronics systems.
4 Experience of electrical component integration (up to 1kV), design & development on production products, particularly HV battery systems and sub systems in a tier 1 or OEM environment
5 Familiar with product delivery process from requirements capture through to design validation of HEV battery systems
6 Experience in compliance engineering to external standards, such as EMC, vehicle safety etc
7 Experienced in delivering DFMEA for design
8 Experienced in design for manufacture (DFM)
9 Drive and commitment to deliver technically challenging projects
10 Able to be flexible on work location and prepared to travel within the UK and internationally on short assignments.
11 Proactive, self-motivated, and attention to detail
12 Strong teamwork, organizational, oral communication, and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

It would be beneficial, but not essential if the applicant had some experience or knowledge in the following fields:

1 Experience in battery management systems for Hybrid vehicle systems
2 Experience in a schematic entry, ideally using Altium
3 Experience using schematic simulation tools
4 Experience in designing for EMC and DFM
5 Familiar with laboratory & field development & test equipment.
6 Experienced in DFMEA for Electrical Systems
7 Hands on experience of working live with HV systems (>50V)
