The ideal Design Engineer will have previous experience designing and developing products and ideally have knowledge of mouldings, casting and pressed metals.

This is a great opportunity for a design engineer who is looking to progress their career within a growing company.

Purpose of the job: Product design and development

Main duties & responsibilities:

* Design of manual, pneumatic and cordless dispensing equipment
* Design new products from concept to production
* Work with development team to improve existing products through iterative design changes and provide engineering support cross functionally within the organisation.

Person Specification:

Essential Criteria - Skills, experience and qualifications:

* 1st or 2nd class engineering degree, or equivalent experience, preferably in mechanical design.
* Proven experience in the design electro mechanical equipment or experience of electro mechanical systems.
* Design experience with plastic mouldings/castings/pressed metalwork.
* Working with design requirements and Product Development Processes to delivery new products
* Highly proficient in 3D CAD (preferable Inventor)
* Use of data management systems
* Drafting skills – Knowledge in the application of latest ISO specs and industry best practices in engineering drawing definition and control (dimensioning standards/tolerance/geometric tolerance/ISO engineering handbook).
* Experience of working in a Quality Assured environment experienced in the practical application of formal design tools such as DFMEA, design verification plans etc.

Team Skills

* Ability to perform (when required) as a lead engineer, with experience in owning the successful delivery of new products, preferably within a multi-function development team.
* Established leadership qualities, coordinating peers, task management and status reporting to management team. Ability to work effectively across mixed discipline/skill groups.
* Independent Working (As required)
* Self-starter, ability to work independently, without support in the fulfilment of design tasks.
* Ability to clearly communicate within cross functional teams.

Desirable Criteria - Skills, experience qualifications

* Experience of tool/personal equipment design.
* Able to write technical documents for publication.
* Experience presenting technical subject matter to nontechnical audiences.
* Achieved, or be actively working towards, Chartered Engineer status.
* Use or application of design verification tools (FEA/CFD)
* Experience with national & international product approvals.
