The Company:
Our client is an Engineering Services company, who are an international technical consultancy, providing a range of services including licence to operate, asset management, manufacturing improvement and capital investment to customers in the chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and consumer industries worldwide

The Role:
Lead a team of purchasing and planning specialists to execute purchasing strategies that support the business by optimizing costs, quality and reliability of suppliers and supplied products. Ensure execution in accordance with Manufacturing Unit and Supply Chain Management (SCM) instructions and procedures. Manage and ensure the correct manufactured and purchased logistics process flow of information and products in order to achieve defined targets for customer service level, operation costs and inventory level

1. Sourcing Strategy - Implements effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy and manufacturing unit strategy to ensure that suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements. Ensures all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly. Together with BU/Hub BU/LBU SCM, identifies, implements and leads opportunities/logistics improvement projects to streamline flow across the entire supply chain.

2. Process - In accordance with Group SCM guidelines and manufacturing unit objectives, implements programs to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities and purchased material inventory). Ensures optimization of warehousing, loading and shipping operations whilst ensuring all local operations are performed to respective quality standards and in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and a safe workplace.

3. Procurement/Planning - Manages planning and tracking of procurement and planning activities, cost budgets, spending and savings forecasts. Ensures buyer and planners minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying and planning in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and in accordance with manufacturing unit guidelines.

4. Monitoring Oversees planning and logistics of incoming and manufactured materials and components based on the master production plan and master production schedule. Updates the master production plan on a regular basis and ensures efficient stock and inventory management. Oversees purchasing and material management activities in manufacturing units. Monitors, reports and optimizes total logistics costs within area of responsibility.

5. Suppler agreements Leverages Category teams in BU/Hub BU/LBU to ensure appropriate supplier selection in manufacturing units. Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major local suppliers. Provides and maintains standard terms in purchase contracts/terms and conditions in line with manufacturing unit directives and guidelines.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• CIPS qualified, minimum Level 5
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a manufacturing purchasing role
• Working knowledge of Lean, especially Kan Ban
• Experience of sourcing in India and China
• Experience of working within cross functional teams
• Experience of working within target driven environments
• Ability to work to strict timelines
