Job Title: Sales Manager – Rail Systems

Location: Pudsey, Leeds

Salary: Competitive, plus bonus

The company is a local subsidiary of a global group based in Germany (More than 1.1 Billion turnover, 70 sites around the globe, 8'000 employees). They produce and sell Carbon components and products for the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The Sales Manager (rail systems) is the company's primary contact with their customers in the railway sector in the UK and Ireland. You will initiate and coordinate sales activities in this field. Responsible for key project management with customers and further market development on new clients. You will understand the customer needs, gives useful advice and generally translate requirements into solutions.

Reports directly to the Managing Director of the company; supported by local sales administration and cooperates closely with their German headquarter and production sites in Europe.

Main Tasks

* Winning and developing customers in agreement with corporate strategy
* Caring for existing clients and key accounts and finding new opportunities
* Being present in the market and visiting customers frequently
* Identify and satisfy customer needs and close cooperation with product development
* Promoting of the company as an innovative and technology- leading company
* Compiling of contact and visit reports after each customer contact (CRM software)

* Useful technical knowledge includes basic physics, engineering, electrical motors,

* Good skills with modern means of communication

The ideal candidate

* Excellent selling skills with previous experience in the UK railway industry or similar sector
* Engineering degree with good commercial understanding or comparable qualification acquired by experience
* Self- reliant and works under own initiative, Target oriented
* Self- sufficient planning and conducting of projects
