The Role:
The client has 2 positions - one focused on the Defence, and one on Decommissioning. The client is willing to consider Warrington or Wolverhampton as a location.

The Role

The Key Account Manager is responsible for developing business and delivering sales in the nuclear new build, current generation, defence, PLEX and decommissioning sectors.

Key Activities

Working closely with and reporting to the Technical Director, this role will support setting the strategic direction of business development to ensure long term engagement to maximise sales opportunities with key customer accounts. The role encompasses delivery across all aspects of business winning, sales and customer interface, including a comprehensive handover of the project won to the delivery team.

• The company is driven by a highly motivated executive team and this key role requires a similarly motivated and experienced individual with a proven track record in the industry.
• Experience and understanding of key account management, business development, sales, engineering and manufacture within the nuclear sector.
• A sound understanding of related technical aspects within the nuclear and general industrial arenas are regarded as essential.
• Identify and develop Key Customer Accounts, aligning the business to become a supplier of choice within the nuclear sector. This will involve developing Key Customer Account Engagement Strategies, securing agreement with internal stakeholders and implementing those strategies.
• Able to work with existing key accounts to identify additional business opportunities.
• Evaluate business opportunities that are ideally suited to maximise profitability through quality deliverables and innovation, on time and within budget.
• To win business either to or above targets set, through consistent delivery of competitive tenders, in line with Key Account and Company expectations.
• Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g. Integrated Project Teams and Functional Heads) to ensure the smooth transition of projects from the Business Winning team through to the delivery phase.
• Develop and agree business plans to maximise profitability.
• Extensive experience within nuclear and / or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong background and proven track record in key account management within technical, sales, operations and business development.
• Exceptional communicator (verbal and written)
• Innovative and forward thinking with a proactive nature, capable and comfortable working both in a team and individually.
• Ideally able to bring existing relationships within the decommissioning, current generation, defence and nuclear new build industries .
