We are currently looking for a Civil Engineer to work on Highway and Drainage schemes for a leading and well renowned engineering consultancy based in the West Midlands/Birmingham area. The team that you would be joining delivers a wide range of projects, including; highway improvement schemes associated with new developments, public realm improvements, airport developments and rail schemes in which you will be undertaking the flood risk assessments and drainage design. This is a great opportunity in which you would report to the Senior Engineer and participate in the production of technical reports, drawing and engineering designs, in which you will receive excellent resource and guidance for training in regards to professional development. 

You should be able to demonstrate a strong technical base with experience in either, Highway Design, Pavement Design, Drainage Design or Utilities co-ordination.   
  
Job requirements

  • Demonstrate experience in designing roads and sewers to adoptable standards,
  • Demonstrate experience in the use of the following software packages:
    • Drainage modelling tools such as Windes,
    • CAD packages – Microstation, Autocad, InRoads or Civils 3d
    • Usual office software i.e. Word, Excel, etc.
  • Demonstrate experience in the use of the Specification for Highway Works and Civil Engineering Specification for the Water Industry,
  • A degree of similar in Civil Engineering
  • Working towards, and looking to progress to a Chartered Engineer
