Head of Systems Integration – Combat Systems

This is an immediate requirement for a Head of Engineering or Chief Engineer with experience of the integration of Combat Systems onto marine platforms.

A great opportunity has arisen for a Chief Engineer to work for a leading design consultancy in the Bath area. This Chief Engineer role will be working on a number of new marine programmes and products being developed for both the UK and international markets. You will have responsibility for a team of 55 Engineers across a range of multiple disciplines.

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities for this Chief Engineer role

- Providing Independent Technical Advice, and peer review to our customers
- Providing expertise to our Platform Design projects
- Providing platform installation guidance support to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
- Designing capability upgrades and modifications for in-service submarine
- Providing platform installation guidance for Special fit projects on Surface Ships and Submarines
- Undertaking a risk based review of technical documentation for Submarines and Surface Ships
- Providing input to the teams undertaking in-house R&D projects

Requirements for this Chief Engineer role

- Extensive experience of the CSI aspects of surface and submarine warship design
- Chartered Engineer status or equivalent
- Experience of successfully managing high calibre technical staff
- Sound experience of Project Management techniques and practices
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Good negotiating and influencing skills
- A strategic perspective with the ability to forward plan and develop new business ideas is a must for this role

Due to the nature of the work at this site, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.

Regular travel will be required between Bath, Bristol and Weymouth
