The role will involve communication at several levels within the business and cross department liaison on a daily basis. The main part of the role is better described as a tooling technician. There is a big quality reporting aspect to the role as well. Position is almost similar to a junior quality engineer. Responsible to ensure that all torque control tooling is maintained and proven capable to ensure product quality. This will include the use of special purpose test equipment and a good understanding of statistical control. Additionally the QT is responsible for the generation of weekly and monthly quality reports to support the overall business by ensuring transparency of quality performance relating to all business KPI’s. A strong team player who is self-motivated, reliable, trustworthy and conscientious. Willing and able to develop new initiatives and ideas and make the right decisions regarding tooling and reporting without supervision. Has good organisation and planning abilities and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Flexibility to work extended hours when the business need arises. Has a proven background in the use of MS Office package and is a competent IT user capable and willing to learn job specific Software. Is analytical, has good communication skills, both written and verbal. A basic knowledge of the German language would be advantageous.

Ensure all torque tooling is validated in line with business requirements.
Auditing of Assembly Tooling to ensure adherence to procedural instructions.
Introduce new tooling as instructed by Planning, liaison regarding best practice is expected.
100% availability of tooling to support production.
Maintenance of minimum stock levels of tooling and associated parts.
Planning of tooling and equipment calibration.
Communicate of tooling failures in accordance with procedures.
Maintain communication with tooling suppliers to ensure timing and efficient tool repairs.
Generation of weekly and monthly reports (as required) to support transparency of business KPI’s.
Analysis of data sets as required to support the business with improvements / resolution of quality issues.
Delivery and communication of quality reports to all departments to support transparency in all current quality KPI’s.

Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will be qualified to HNC/D in Mechanical, Manufacturing or quality Engineering. Ideally previous experience in manufacturing operations would be beneficial.

Working Experience:
1-2 year's experience in manufacturing and or automotive quality systems.
Knowledge in TPM and Assembly processes.
Proven track record using statistical data for quality control and improvement.
An understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
Working knowledge and application of MS Office.

Specialist Knowledge:
7 Tools of Quality.
Statistical Process Control.
Basic awareness of Quality Systems (ISO9001, TS16949)
