The role will require the individual to focus on the engineering from concept CAD and follow through pre builds and into J1 to confirm the final delivery of the attribute target for the vehicle is achieved.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

• Support the initial attribute target setting process with the VEM team.
• Support benchmarking and best in class recommendations including support of new technologies and proving of these at either part or system level.
• Understand the attribute target and how the proposed structure will achieve it. Confirm the feasibility of achieving the targets set.
• Evaluate through CAD analysis the design proposal and raise necessary concerns to the structure owner for resolution.
• Follow any concerns raised through CAD evaluations with the owner to ensure suitable solutions are applied.
• Re-evaluate and assess through virtual build process, progression of the design structure to achieve set targets.
• Evaluate and support during physical builds the performance of the attribute, track and report out to senior management on a weekly basis.
• Create and manage test reports to communicate the status of the attribute.
• Attend and support PMST to drive design resolution
• Be the responsible point of contact and take ownership for any containments necessary to resolve any components or vehicles that are away from meeting the attribute target.
• Communicate back to the attribute owner, engineering changes required to reach a desirable countermeasure.
• Report status of the attribute through LCM / Gateway events.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
• Programme or project management experience
• Automotive experience
• Launch experience
• Broad Engineering and manufacturing knowledge
• Finance awareness
• Understanding of systems and controls
• Computer literacy – Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word
• Communication and presentation skills
• Good inter-personal skills
• Able to work across several departments
• Able to work with and motivate a team
• Logical problem solving mind-set
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• The role may require the individual to be flexible with working hours depending on launch build phases.
