The Company:
Our client has a long history in supplying specialised components, systems and services to the civil nuclear industry. They have designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied custom equipment for both new build projects and operations reactors around the world for more than 40 years.

The Role:
The UK-Context Engineer designs, develops, tests, supports the implementation and monitoring of engineering and process solutions to demonstrate compliance with UK requirements.

Accountabilities include:

• The UK-Context Engineer designs, develops, tests, implements and monitors Engineering and process solutions to demonstrate compliance with UK requirements.
• They will be assigned to one or more of the UK-Context subjects relevant to nuclear systems or equipment to be installed . His/her activity is coordinated by the UK-Context Manager.
• Within their subject areas the team members are responsible for developing the material necessary to implement solutions.
• Support to implementation of UK Context will include delivery of specific training for UK Context topic areas (~30 days/year).
• As well as developing guidance and training to support the embedding of UK Context activities the UK Context Team also provides direct input to project deliverables where appropriate. Examples of this include categorisation of modifications and CDM reviews. In this role the team interfaces with the different engineering sections responsible for production of the design deliverables.
• The team members have the capability to cover each other as required within the limits of their knowledge and expertise.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree qualified in appropriate technical discipline.
• Knowledge / Understanding of Pressurised Water Reactors would be an advantage.
• Experience supporting the nuclear systems or /and equipment on nuclear power stations in the UK.
• Some experience of Process, Mechanical or Civil Engineering on a large complex project would be an advantage.
• Experience working and interfacing with different groups, customers, regulators etc. within a multi dimensional project.
• Equivalent relevant experience in other safety critical, highly regulated industries may also be appropriate.
• Excellent communications skills are paramount for this role, with the ability to identify situations where it is applicable to challenge.
